Thanks, Ulrich. I think I may have been influenced by Woodlands or Inuit art here.

This is crop, so I may be able to get some more images of the entire photo, Jaap. The complete photo was too overwhelming for my simple mind.

Thanks, Joe. I hope to get an interesting crop or two out of the photo I cropped this out of. All the best to you, too.

Okay, this started me thinking, albeit not too deeply, about preservation of our history. If we repair the broken area, is it the same object? How about if we replace it? Would you have taken the same picture if the breakage were not there?Probably not - something drew your eye to the detail.) Anyway, it resonates.

Thanks, Bob. I'm not sure about the answers to your first two questions, but I can assure you I would not have taken the photo if the sign (which is what this is a detail of) had not been damaged. What drew my eyes was, I think, the sculptural qualities. Or perhaps simply it's being three-dimensional and colourful.

Thanks, John. I've never considered what these would look like on a big screen, but maybe now I'll think more about that.

The paintings of Norval Morrisseau might interest you on a big screen, too. I think he may have inspired this.
