How did we manage before mobile phones?
John FitzGerald has replied to red-eye
We actually had to pay attention to our surroundings, red-eye. It seems to me that people use their phones to create their own world to live in in place of the real one. Photographers are the last twentieth century people.

Hahaha....so true!!

The twentieth century seems a long time ago.

Indeed. These two gents in their separate phonespace worlds seem like ships passing in the night...

But they're busy, Will. Torontonians have to be busy. The cellphone does help Torontonians fill a gap -- never an unsettling moment of calm.

Thanks, Denis. The taxis are welcome relief in this grey city. I take the red-and-yellow ones.

In the fermata. "A note prolonged beyond the normal duration its note value would indicate." Always interesting.

John FitzGerald has replied to Steve Bucknell
That's Toronto, Steve. We live on a prolonged not of keeping busy.
Steve Bucknell has replied to John FitzGerald
"A prolonged not" Is definitely a phrase I will slip into conversation from now on.

John FitzGerald has replied to Steve Bucknell
Glad to be of help, Steve. I think that was a Freudian slip -- I have not been keeping busy for my entire life. It's a matter of principle with me.

Steve Bucknell has replied to John FitzGerald
You're a principle among men, John.

It's such a relief to be outside the world of constant thrashing and yapping, now. Ahhhhh....
The crookedy, rushing legs of the two men really grab me into the photo, John.

John FitzGerald has replied to Diane Putnam
I have to admit that I love watching it from the outside, Diane.
