Nocturne 5 by Karen Lamonte (Explored)
Corning Museum of Glass - Corning, NY
"Sculpture, "Nocturne 5". Dark blue glass appearing black; mold-melted using lost wax process, grit blasted, acid polished. Life-sized, standing female figure wrapped in drapery. Drapery extends from top right shoulder down across left arm, and from left waist over outstretched right arm and down across left hip. Below hip, drapery falls vertically into a pool at the feet. Glass is lighter and more transparent at the top, becoming dark and opaque at the base."
