Leonard Cohen is, in this case, only a support for what I want to express through this composition, Laura (and implicitly through my title). Whatever the medium, your opinion of my words matters more to me - especially coming from you!

Everyone knows, or should know, today, that the smallest path traced by man through nature for his own selfish needs, and often to the detriment of nature, and which we may still find admirable, is in the end a path traced towards his own grave. That we must revise our integral conception of our relationship with nature, with that of the other men on our planet, if we want to avoid the collapse of our civilization and its suicide. Leonard and I are not saying anything else, and this is audible, I have no doubt, to your ears.

Of course I understand. I work everyday to have as little impact on the world as possible, and instead to focus on enjoying the nature around me. Beauty and hope can lead the way.

I'm afraid that we are the only guarantors of our future - at least that's what I'm learning from life, without which it's of little interest (it's the lesson I'm learning as I approach retirement, where I hope to find the energy that will exceed that which I've always put into the companies where I've worked, in the interests of their shareholders).
