History shows us that the lessons of the past are not so often sown. Corona lesson is in the hands of an oligarchy, and popular initiatives, however numerous and venerable, have no hold on it. I cannot believe in a renewal of our modes of operation, no more numerous than those aimed at cleaning up the climate, which, alas, are too much of a minority. This crisis is, alas, still not enough, in my opinion, to overthrow the powers...

It may be that the Corona crisis is not enough to overthrow power in the narrowest sense, but do we need it at all for a more humane, fairer, better future in all areas of life?
Is it not rather in the hands of the "simple" people to bring selfish oligarchs to their senses...?
On the other hand, many things are already visibly and noticeably changing for the better. And that gives reason for hope. So, please, cheer up and don't despair, Eric.

Everything will be different and first it will be difficult. Let's just hope that eventually it's a better kind of different. Lovely photo, Eric.

But I don't share your optimism. The attacks on our sociality, particularly in France, are likely to continue if we are not vigilant. The powers in place have no longer opposition. And our future is of little importance compared to theirs.

I wouldn't say I'm actually optimistic. Yes, the mood of humanity these days is terrible and seems to be running through a tunnel without a light at the end.

Le monde change déjà mon cher Eric, il suffit d'ouvrir grand ses oreilles et ses yeux...

Beaucoup plus de considération entre les gens, des formules de politesse chaleureuses de la part de tout jeunes gens envers les personnes âgées, certains se rendent enfin compte qu'ils ne sont plus seuls sur cette terre .... Plus de propositions d'aides dans les HLM....

Alors, tout n'est pas perdu!
De plus, jamais l'air n'a été plus pur sans voitures, sans avions!!!

Je suis sûre que nous allons nous mettre au travail comme jamais, car il faut faire repartir l'économie du pays. J'ai vécu la guerre 39/45 et l'après-guerre, la France s'est reconstruite très vite... grâce aux habitants qui ont relevé leurs manches ensemble!!!!

J'adore ce paysage de vos environs au coucher du soleil et je vous souhaite une reprise pleine d'allant et d'énergie. Prenez soin de vous avec des bisous tendresse pour vous et les vôtres

The grandiose light beyond the buildings of an immobilized dark city, powerful and insightful epitome of your compelling article, intensely suggests to me the hope of, one day, not so far,being able to exclaim with Miranda these words so significant of a sense of reconciliation and forgiveness with the world to come, justified by a better, fairer, human, wise, democratic society, where finally the 'utopia'takes real social and political form...

At the same time, something perhaps too much, justifiably or not?!, rooted in my mind reminds me of A. Huxley's futuristic and dystopian vision of Brave New World', but... always with the hope that we, as mankind, , at last !, after this crisis and the incoming consequences, will be able to deny ,it and redeem ouserselves , in this world and not in much more hypotethical 'another one'
