EN: A first polychrome wood Trinity church was built in 1852 and then transferred and rebuilt by the architect Théodore Ballu between 1861 and 1867 on the Place d'Estienne d'Orves.
On March 11, 1869, the funeral of Hector Berlioz is celebrated there.
The building is built above a small square designed by Jean-Charles Alphand. Its richly decorated façade is inspired by the Italian Renaissance, with niches as in St. John Lateran, pediments and pilasters. The sets and statues illustrate the mystery of the Holy Trinity and the fathers of the Church who defended this dogma. At the top of the facade are represented the four cardinal virtues and around the belfry-shaped bell tower, influenced by the French Renaissance, the symbols of the four Evangelists. Below, the symbolism of the number three dominates: three fountains with three washbasins, surmounted by three statues illustrating the three theological virtues.
