Into the woods in a Model T….
It’s hard to imagine what travel through here must have been like back in the 1910’s. It would have been fairly remote in those days, and I would assume that there was very light traffic in the beginning years. It would probably have been common to come around a corner and confront a large animal (bear or alligator), and no nearby place for repairs if you hit it. On the other hand it must have felt quite adventurous, since much of this part of Florida was very sparsely settled even into the late 1800’s.
FYI, if you did meet another car it would have been a very tight squeeze to pass – from what I could find, the model T was 66” in width.
