Astoria OR (#1260)

Downtown Astoria is in a very narrow space between the hills and the river, mostly built on fill. The wharves and fishing processing plants were thus just within a couple of blocks of downtown. The railroad crossing was once for the wharves, but is now use by a tourist trolley (see later pictures).
