Fort Columbia State Park (#1252)

This is the type of artillery that would have been at the post for protecting the river during WWII, though this particular gun was moved to the site from Newfoundland -- the guns that had been at the site had been scrapped. The outside shell around the gun, that looks almost like concrete, is very thick steel.
