East Yorkshire (National Express contractor) 69 (G391 PNV) in Scarborough – 11 Aug 1994 (236-3)

Thursday 11 August 1994 (1010) – East Yorkshire Motor Services has worked on National Express contracts for many years notably from its native area to Birmingham/South Wales and to London, the latter often linked with services from London to the South Coast.

At the time of this photograph the company also worked on cross Pennine services to Manchester and Liverpool which is where Plaxton Expressliner bodied Volvo B10M 69 (G391 PNV) was heading today on service 382 via Hull, Leeds and Manchester. This trip departed at 1020 and reminded me of my childhood days when the West Yorkshire Road Car Company/Ribble Motor Services joint service X192 left Scarborough at 1015 for Liverpool taking me back home to Rochdale via York, Leeds and Bradford. The routes travelled being quite different .

New in July 1990 this Expressliner had originally been operated by United Counties (91).
