First Eastern Counties LA810 (DLS 353V) in Mildenhall - 1 Dec 1995

First Eastern Counties LA810 (DLS 353V) in Mildenhall - 1 Dec 1995
Friday 1 December 1995 (1455) – The common ownership of Midland Bluebird and the Eastern Counties Omnibus Company resulted in the transfer of this Alexander Y type bodied Leyland Leopard from Scotland to East Anglia. Originally seen running on a school baths contract in Mildenhall in early November 1995 wearing Midland Bluebird livery and looking very down at heel, DLS 353V was now resplendent in the cream, red and orange ECOC version of the GRT Holdings style livery. The black paint applied along the window area disguises the many window pillars of this bus version of the ‘Y’ type body. Coach versions had fewer and larger sized windows.

LA810 was seen at King Street, Mildenhall when working the 1404 service 200 from Thetford to Newmarket. The buildings in the background are the Mildenhall Social Club (on the left) and the Blockbuster Video Rental Shop (now Costa) on the right.
