Frossard O 303 at the Grand-Saint-Bernard summit - Aug 1990

August 1990 – S A Agence Frossard is a touring company based in the Thonon les Bains/Annecy area. One of their Mercedes-Benz O 303 coaches is seen here at the top of the St. Bernard Pass between Italy and Switzerland. My Austin Montego is also in the photograph.

Despite this being August there was still some snow visible on the surrounding peaks in fact, just over the edge of the car park in a shaded area, there was quite a bit of snow to be seen. The pass is closed during the winter period (October to May) and traffic must use the all year round option of the road tunnel. The height here is about 2470 metres above sea level.
