The manor "du Bailly" (16th C.) - HBM.

The bailif was an officer representing the king's authority, responsible for enforcing justice and controlling the administration on his behalf. They were the equivalent of the current prefects.

DAS HERRENHAUS "DU BAILLY" (16. Jh.). Der Landvogt war ein Amtmann, der die Autorität des Königs vertrat, in seinem Namen die Justiz durchsetzte und die Verwaltung kontrollierte. Er war das Äquivalent zu den heutigen Präfekten.
