I have never come across that word before, 'misericord'. The carvings around the arch are amazing. I would think they are Norman. A lovely series that I have enjoyed very much Doug.

The carving on this rather ornate doorway is quite remarkable although worn by time and the elements it beautiful to see at close hand. Difficult to do it justice with a photograph. Thanks very much for your visit and kind comment Tanja.
