Der Admiral hat den Winter überlebt - The admiral has survived the winter
Siehe PiP: Weibchen

The Admiral (Vanessa atalanta) is actually a southern European butterfly species that flies over the Alps every year as a migratory butterfly to establish a new generation of admirals in Central Europe, which then fly back south in autumn to hibernate. The butterflies need about two weeks to cover the 2000 to 3000 kilometre distance from North Africa or Southern Europe to us.
Only in exceptional cases some butterflies overwintered here. In the meantime, however, this has become the rule. This is probably due to climate change.
The admiral in the photo spent the winter here and was observed by me in a mixed deciduous forest. Incidentally, it is a male, which can be distinguished from the female by the absence of a white spot in the orange-yellow band on the forewing. See PiP: female
