Eine Zauberwelt en miniature - A magical world in miniature
Immer wieder hielt ich bei meinen Wanderungen auch Ausschau nach Becherflechten. Jetzt endlich war meine Suche erfolgreich: In einem fränkischen Naturschutzgebiet fand ich kleinere Ansammlungen der Echten Becherflechte (Cladonia pyxidata) mit trompetenartiger Struktur und winzig klein auf kargem Kalkschotterboden mit nur spärlicher Moosvegetation. In der letzten Zeit habe ich mehrfach Flechtenarten aus der Gruppe der Krustenflechten und der Strauchflechten gezeigt. Als letzte Gruppe kommen jetzt noch die Becherflechten hinzu.
Weltweit gibt es ca. 25.000 Flechtenarten, davon 2000 in Mitteleuropa. Gemessen an der Zahl der Planzenarten weltweit von mehr als 300000 und der Zahl der Pilzarten weltweit von ca. 140000 sind die Flechten also eine kleine Gruppe. Bekannt ist die enorme Überlebensfähigkeit mancher Flechten, die sogar einige Wochen Aufenthalt im Weltraum (!) überleben können.

I kept looking for fruticose lichens on my hikes. Now my search was finally successful: In a Franconian nature reserve, I found small clusters of the pebbled cup lichen (Cladonia pyxidata) with a trumpet-like structure and tiny on barren limestone gravel soil with only sparse moss vegetation. Recently, I have shown several lichen species from the group of crustose lichens and foliose lichens. The last group to be added now are the fruticose lichens. There are around 25,000 species of lichen worldwide, 2000 of which are found in Central Europe. Compared to the more than 300,000 plant species worldwide and the approximately 140,000 fungi species worldwide, lichens are therefore a small group. It is well known that some lichens are extremely resilient and can even survive a few weeks in the outer space (!).
