Hängepartie - Hanging out
Diese weibliche Kohlschnake (Tipula oleracea) ruht mit ihren langen Beinen an einer verwelkten Kornradenblüte (Agrostemma githago). Auch wenn die Kohlschnaken ziemlich groß sind, braucht man keine Angst vor ihnen zu haben, denn mit ihren zarten Mundwerkzeugen können sie nur Pflanzensäfte wie Nektar zu sich nehmen. Die Larven leben im Boden von verwesenden Stoffen.

This marsh crane fly (Tipula oleracea) rests with her long legs on a wilted common corn-cockle (Agrostemma githago). Even though cabbage snails are quite large, there is no need to be afraid of them because their delicate mouthparts allow them to ingest only plant juices such as nectar. The larvae live in the soil on decaying matter.
