Die Wiese lebt (3) - The meadow is living (3)
Aufgrund des breiten Spektrums an Futterpflanzen (v.a.

The butterfly small heath (Coenonympha pamphilus) lives in all kinds of meadows and grasslands and is widespread. Due to the wide range of food plants (mainly grasses) for the caterpillars and a large number of species of nectar food plants for the butterflies, the small heath is distributed almost all over Europe. As it produces several generations per year, it can be observed almost all year round. It is 23 - 33 mm in size.
