The common blue damselfly (Enallagma cyathigerum) is a small damselfly of the damselfly family, only about 3 cm in size. It is relatively common, but because of its small size it is hardly noticeable despite its beautiful coloration. In Germany, it is not explicitly protected, but like all dragonflies, it is specially protected under the Federal Species Protection Ordinance. The picture was taken at the shore of the forest pond I showed in the previous photo (www.ipernity.com/doc/cammino/50805566 ).
