Auch die Wanzen sind in Fortpflanzungsstimmung - Also the bugs are in reproductive mood

The picture shows the bug Graphosoma lineatum on a chervil flower.
One finds these bugs on umbellifers like chervil, carrot, in gardens also on cultivated plants like dill or fennel. Woody plants close to the plants on which the adult animals are more frequently found in spring seem to be favourable for the population of the bugs.
Both the larvae and the adult animals usually sit on their food plants and suck on the maturing seeds there. The adults hibernate in dry litter or in plant cushions. Mating takes place from the end of May and especially in June; the females then lay their eggs during the June/July period. One generation is trained per year.
