Winter am Fischweiher - Winter at the fish pond

Im Bild ein Fischweiher, dessen Wasser im Herbst abgelassen wurde und wo jetzt die Wintersonne so schön durch das Schilfrohr leuchtet. Restliches Wasser befindet sich als Eis am Rand des Weihers.
Der Sinn des Wasserablassens: Im Laufe der Zeit wird wegen des Sauerstoffmangels am Bodengrund der giftige Faulschlamm auf dem Teichboden immer mehr. Durch das Ablassen des Wassers im Herbst wird der Teichboden der Luft ausgesetzt. Der Zutritt von Sauerstoff sowie Bakterien und Pilzen sorgen für einen für einen raschen Abbau des Faulschlamms. Im Frühjahr wird dann neues, frisches Wasser eingelassen.

New, fresh water is then let in in spring.
