At this point in Würzburg, groups of Jewish fellow citizens were gathered together three times in 1942 and forced to walk to the goods station, from where they were taken to the east. Almost all of them were killed by illness, murder or forced labor. In memory of the first deportation on November 27,1941, this deportation monument was erected, commemorating 2068 Jews who were deported by the Nazis in a total of eight deportations until 1944.
