Die Halong-Bay (Halong-Bucht, vietnamesisch: Vịnh Hạ Long), ein rund 1500 km² grosses Gebiet im Golf von Tonkin im Norden von Vietnam.
Nach offiziellen Angaben ragen hier 969 Kalkfelsen und Inseln zum Teil mehrere hundert Meter hoch aus dem Wasser. Das Kalksteinplateau sinkt jedoch langsam. 1994 erklärte die UNESCO die Bucht zum Weltnaturerbe.

Ja, da hätte ich noch länger bleiben können (trotz der überwältigenden Wasserverschmutzung hier inmitten eines UNESCO-Weltnaturerbe)! Die Stimmung war beeindruckend und ein zweiter Morgen hätte sicher wieder andere Farbenspiele usw. hervorgebracht

Ist wirklich toll hier ... abgesehen von dem Schiffsdieselgestank in der Luft und vom ganzen Kunststoffmüll im Wasser.

Ich hoffe, dass Vietnam etwas gegen diese extreme Umweltverschmutzung unternimmt. (Ich gehöre nicht zu den Umweltschutzfanatikern, aber hier wurde es selbst mir etwas zu viel ...)
