Southsea Castle - HFF
Southsea Castle, historically also known as Chaderton Castle, is an artillery fort originally constructed by Henry VIII on Portsea Island, Hampshire, in 1544. A still operational lighthouse, commissioned by the Admiralty, was constructed on the western gun platform in 1828, rising 10 m above the its base atop the walls (white light, 1 second on, 1 second off; also fixed red, white or green, directional light for channel).
