Opera di VIHLS , giovane street artist di origine Portoghese, ormai famoso in tutto il mondo, all'interno del quartiere romano di TOrmarancia per il Progetto City Life, iniziato nel 2015 e conclusosi in un mese.

Ha voluto rappresentare lo sguardo delle donne dell borgata che guardano dalle finestre , osservano, vivono le storie del loro quartiere.
Mi aveva molto colpito anche allora nel 2018, ma troppe foto di questi murales avevo già pubblicato.
Ora questo periodo di sguardi dietro o dalle finestre me l'ha fatta ricordare.

Un lavoro dedicato alle donne, si indovina dai dettagli che spuntano, ma anche alla vivacità della convivenza in un caseggiato come questo, in cui sporgersi dalla finestra non è un semplice curiosare, ma anche un mezzo di interscambio sociale tra chi si conosce da una vita. Ci si chiama, si parla, un tempo si calavano i cestini della spesa …. ma le finestre sono anche dei punti di osservazione al contrario, nel senso che, dalle ante spalancate, possiamo annotare frammenti di vita quotidiana degli abitanti, le loro storie quotidiane che anche noi condividiamo.
Forse tutto questo viene perduto nelle case di oggi, nel senso che non conosciamo neppure i vicini perché andiamo sempre di fretta. Per questo mi piace questo angolo di "piccolo mondo antico" che hai pubblicato, una veduta che ci rassicura !|

Beatrice Degan(MARS) has replied to photosofghosts clubIn effetti la tecnica di Alexandre Farto alias VIHLS( o viceversa ) sembra ed è una forma di ricamo! Non usa pennelli ma scalpelli, lime etc etc per letteramente scavare nei vecchi muri abbandonati solitamente ritratti , visi grandissimi ( tecnica della Sottrazione: così ho imparato quando mi sono documentata:-)
In questo caso, penso che abbia prima steso un bello strato di calce o qualcosa di simile sulla facciata e poi ne abbia 'graffiato' l'opera con i suoi vari strumenti.
Come ho già detto sopra, la prima volta che mi trovai davanti a questo occhio femminile , proprio tra le finestre,ne rimasi subito affascinata.
Pensai che aveva colto in pieno il significato della convivenza dei vari inquilini /e di questo quartiere ormai 'storico' con tutte le sue vicissitudini ed ancora ora popolare verace . Infatti, , almeno all'interno di queste quiete palazzine con giardinetti anche ben curati, sopravvive ancora quel modo di vivere , di una convivenza ormai per lo più perduta, che tu hai descritto così felicemente e intensamente.

Nella mia icerca di una Roma per lo più sconosciuta, rimasi incantata da queste per me opere di vera Arte Contemporanea , molto più stringenti ed emozioanti di tanta fuffa che si vende a peso d'oro da parte di certi mercanti d'arte che la vendono a prezzi incredibili e che io, , anche se ne avessi le possibilità... mai e poi mai comprerei. Fuffa, appunto :-)
