As an effective remedy against snowdrifts, artificial obstacles (snow fences) are erected in many places, so that the snowdrift accumulates in the wind direction in front or behind the snow fence.

I thought it is a snow fence! =O

And surprised to find out that such net is enough to stop the snow. But yes, when it the snow is piling up, it does becomes thicker and solid enough.
