GENESIS AND DEVELOPMENT OF A POEM
Neighboring voices coming from childhood
through the accent ot tose who speak aside
the inexorable sun over the waters
hunches coming with the wind
the old fortress the bay vision
the full tide the afternoon the clouds the blue
memory of all this in another summer another place
and by my visibly victimized look
everything possible at the table and at the ball-point pen
at the sheet of paper sorry my friend at the bar
loneliness assured by the crowd
the light the time the vacations the sunday
the stone cross the square the car
all this doesn't matter only matters
a few and simple words remaining of all this
that set all this: «suspended time» or «quiet sea»
or «I fel good» or --- what do I know? --- «someone died»
///
GÉNESE E DESENVOLVIMENTO DO POEMA
Vozes vizinhas vindas da infância
através do sotaque de quem fala aqui ao lado
o sol inexorável sobre as águas
pressentimentos vindos com o vento
a velha fortaleza a vista da baía
a maré cheia a tarde as nuvens o azul
memória disto tudo noutro verão noutro lugar
e pelo meu olhar visivelmente vitimado
tudo possível pela mesa e pela esferográfica
pelo papel desculpa ó minha amiga pelo bar
a solidão assegurada pela multidão
a luz a hora as férias o domingo
o cruzeiro de pedra o largo o automóvel
tudo isto não importa importam só
as mínimas e únicas palavras que me ficam disto tudo
e tudo isto fixam: «tempo suspenso» ou «mar imóvel»
ou «sinto-me bem» ou --- que sei eu? ---«alguém morreu»
