Edison Station New Jersey
Three days later pure sunshine, that means almost spring feelings and hard contrasts. This time we go via Pennstation Newark to Pennstation New York.

The day is coming to an end. It gets dark and the lights turn on. Our ferry departs, heading for Staten Island.

The Wollman Rink

For that I had come to Central Park today: The Wollman Rink
Wollman Rink is a public ice rink in the southern part of Central Park. It is named after the Wollman family who donated the funds for its original construction. The rink is open for ice skating from late October to early April.
Of course, it would have been nicer if there had been snow in general. But this year's winter in New York City doesn't allow it - it's too warm.
The Rink gained notoriety for numerous movies in which it served as a backdrop. Among them were Love Story and Serendipity. moviemaps.org/locations/369

Central Park at last (for this day)

The Central Park is an urban park in New York City located between the Upper West and Upper East Sides of Manhattan. It is the fifth-largest park in the city, covering 843 acres (341 ha). It is the most visited urban park in the United States, with an estimated 42 million visitors annually as of 2016, and is the most filmed location in the world.
The Park is not as spectacular this time of year as it is during the warmer times of the year. It lacks the street performers, the musicians. But it radiates even more tranquility than usual, especially at this time of year. Disturbing was the rickshaw driver who offered his services with loud hip-hop drumbeating. If he had stayed near us any longer, I would have rudely pulled the plug on him.

Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman in the role of con man Harold Hill in "The Music Man", a musical with book, music and lyrics by Meredith Willson, based on the book of Willson's 1948 memoir "And There I Stood with My Piccolo", with assistance from playwright Franklin Lacey.

Welcome to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

I usually avoid Time Square. Besides all the things "Made in China!" that are offered, walking through Times Square is comparable to the commercial break of a movie on TV. Nothing more. There may be a photograph or two, but basically it's just, "Get out of here fast!"
There's only one reason for me to head for Times Square, and that's to have lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, an American seafood restaurant chain inspired by the 1994 film Forrest Gump. :-)

No police action thriller would have these police cars driving through the frame. Unless it had some gimmicks like in James Bond. ;-)

Trolleydog

A new trend friends of small dogs seems to be to carry their dogs in specially designed pet trolleys. You also seem to be able to wear this as a backpack on your back.
Strange city dwellers and where to find them.

A bit of unpaid advertising, but it just turned out so well. And the red sign looks good in the gloomy winter weather.

In Madison Square Park, Sikander’s towering golden female figure, Witness, 2023, is embellished by a steel hoopskirt with calligraphic mosaic details, which map the surface with the word “havah,” meaning ‘air’ or ‘atmosphere’ in Urdu, and ‘Eve’ in Arabic and Hebrew.
