POSTCARD Date: Not evident. Not Posted. Publisher / Photographer: Unidentified Notation:I would like to know what is taking place in this image, and its accompanying one. The note on the reverse reads; "Pile driver near Main Street Crossing Winnipeg". The streetcar appears to be emerging from under the Main Street subway and it us identified as being on the "St. Boniface" Route & it is operating on overhead wires. I am assuming that the construction is taking place at the northwest corner of where the CRP tracks run over Main Street. I can't remember what building used to stand there - just to the south of the "Yellow Warehouse"?

Notation: Here, posed near his cottage in riding Mountain Park, sits Grey Owl (a.k.a. Archie Belaney). In my adolescence, he was one of my heroes. Unique and controversial, he was one of North America's earliest and most vocal environmentalists.
