Notation: I believe this photo was taken from the west side of the Red River - and shows the part of the floating bridge that was elevated to allow for the passage of smaller watercraft. When larger vessels showed up, the bridge would be partially disassembled to enable their passage.

I think he lived around there most of his life, so it would have been an easy walk to take some pics of this.
