Yareta - Azorella compacta

Yareta is a typical plant of the altiplano growing at altitudes between 3200-5200m. It's a compact and dense perennial of the Apiaceae (umbelliferae) family with very small pinkish flowers and grows only 1,5 mm a year. Many of the plants are over 3000 years old. Being used as fuel by the indigenous population they are sadly getting rare. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yareta
Oreocereus trollii

Oreocereus trollii is a cactus growing in Northern Argentina and Bolivia at altitudes of 3000-4000m. It can grow up to 50cm tall, is covered in (hard) white "wool" and has very sharp yellowish thorns.
This photo was taken on the Tupiza-San Vicente road at El Sillar at appr. 3700m.

Morning blue hour at Ørnes harbour. Ørnes has ca. 1600 inhabitants and is the centre of Meløy kommune. It is a regular Hurtigruten stop and a busy hub for fjord ferries to the many islands in the area. In summer it's a popular tourist spot with Svartisen glacier one of the main attractions.

Hohernzollernbrücke is a railway and foot-/cycle-bridge over the Rhine. The fence separating trains and foot passengers/ cyclists disappears under the tons of love locks. Wiki deutsch

Full moon over Kvaløya

6.30 p.m.- start to a night of aurora hunting. The moon was so bright that everything cast shadows.

St. Michael's Mount lies on a tidal Island in Cornwall and is reached by causeway at low tide. In the 11th century it was given to the Benedictines by Edward the Confessor and was the Cornish counterpart to Mont Saint-Michel. Since the 17th century is has been the home of the St. Aubyn family. The current castle dates from the late 19th century and it is now managed by the National Trust .

Stuttgart Kunstmuseum was designed by Berlin architects Hascher and Jehle and opened in 2005. It houses (among others) an important collection of works by Otto Dix.

Rorbuer are traditional fishermen's huts which nowadays are often turned into holiday homes. Behind these rorbuer at Svolvær harbour drying racks full of cod can be seen.
