Giske Church
Originally the private chapel of the noble Giske family, the current church probably dates from the 14th century. The Giske family had ties to the Norwegian kings, one daughter married King Harald III. Hardråde who died in 1066 in the Battle of Stamford Bridge.
Later the marble church (the marble doesn't show under the whitewash) was used as a parish church.
