If this was in the UK it would also be in the National Trust as well as UNESCO. You had lovely weather. Our garden is open tomorrow and we have torrential rain since Tuesday. It is cool and cloudy today with a cold wind. My sodden rose heads are in the composting bin.
I love that mellow stonework, it reminds me of the Cotswolds.

Thank you so much, Amelia! It's sandstone in Quedlinburg and erosion has caused major problems. With noney from various sourcea (EU etc) they managed to stabilize the hill.
I read about your incessant rain, best of luck with your open garden tomorrow! At least the other garden owners all face the same problem;-)

Yes, the rose had a lovely scent, as did most of them! I'm glad old style scented roses are back in fashion again, when I was a kid most were rather artificial looking and without scent.

Thanks a lot, Peter! I waited until hey were on the top as silhouettes. The sunshine would have been just as glorious with 25 instead of 35 degrees;-) This week we are going to have Sahara heat of up to 40°C, I'd gladly send you some...
