These looked like wooden cutouts on this crossarm? They're visible on Google Maps at 2053 W Jefferson Blvd. in Los Angeles... anyone recognize them?

AstroElectric, austintaylor619, Tony Glen, Power Lines have particularly liked this photo

Those are in fact wooden cutouts. Nice find! Line up on top is either 60kV or 34.5kV.

What a find! I thought those were all gone. Glad you were able to photograph them!

I wish I had photos of LADWP from when I was there twice!

Tony, there are tons of old setups all over Los Angeles. It's a great place to look at power lines and transformers... and up until about 2 years ago it was a great place to find open wire series incandescent. There's still a bit in LA, but now there's more in Pasadena than LA. Pasadena is also a good place to look. Anywhere with an old municipal utility...

The wooden cutouts are on a 4800V circuit... I checked with a contact at the DWP and they confirmed.

Some of that 4.8kV delta stuff can be really ancient. I've seen photos of some great stuff in Detroit, and I've visited and photographed some interesting old 4.8kV construction in Connecticut as well.
