Jam Jar Lens

Jam Jar Lens
An unconventional lens filter: the St. Dalfour jam jar, contents consumed, jar washed, label removed. The labels are stuck on very fast and take some shifting. You have to hold the 'filter' in place. The jam people have not provided any screw-in threads.

Steve Bucknell, Amazingstoker have particularly liked this photo

Nice image, interesting effect.

Just a hint, you can epoxy things like this to lens thread adapters, if you get them off ebay they're cheap as chips from Hong Kong and China.

Thanks. Useful information, but in this case inadvisable. Those jam jars are heavy.

I’ve been experimenting with triangular whisky bottles and olive oil bottles while I was away. I’d put the bottles in a bowl of water with a bit of washing up liquid, and in the morning the labels would peel away easily. This is a very satisfying result.

Thanks. I lack patience. Even so, some labels come off relatively easily. Not, however, the St. Dalfour labels. I think St Dalfour is the patron saint of glue.
