Tournus - St. Philibert

Tournus - St. Philibert
The high arches of the central nave. Between the arches are the barrel vaults. The first vaults, constructed in 1050, were very ambitious - and shaky. So in 1070 this was replaced by a new construction. Now every bay has it´s own vault, crosswise to the aisle. This was an architectural breakthrough.
