For EMT 178, Something Red; Alaska Fireweed

For many years I thought Alaska fireweed was named for it's color. Now I'm not so sure. I've noticed that after a fire passed through the tanga, among the first plants to grow the next season or two are the fireweeds blanking the denuded hills with color.
