CD 302 Hemingray Insulators in service use

CD 302 Hemingray Insulators in service use
Williams County, Ohio

A pole with four CD 302 Hemingray glass insulators still in service use in Ohio along highway 20. Last week I shot about 25 more poles with the CD 302s in service use and counted 108 still in use. Most say Ohio on the reverse embossed side along with a few Muncie Type. This is a very rare sight today to see large colored glass pin type power insulators in service use.

AstroElectric, , , SW Ohio Lines and 4 other people have particularly liked this photo

This is a nice catch. Transformer looks like one of the "obround" styles made by Line Materials.

Great find and photo! Love those big Hemingray insulators. And that transformer is indeed a Line Material Co. obround can!

I wonder if those insulators may be original to these poles?

The insulators were produced from the 1890's to the 20's but the poles don't really look that old. Also, most of the electric hardware like transformers, arresters, and other electric hardware all look to be more modern. This transformer to me looked like the oldest one.
