Sorry about that I did take some with the rose much lower but rejected them because the aperture was to wide leaving the map out of focus

The rose is a real beauty Peter, and I do like your backdrop. I loved looking at maps of the world as a child and still have a few very out of date atlas books! A perfect picture for today.

I don't know what the rose is it sort of got over run by the wisteria !! there is no printing date in the atlas but I found a map showing the boundaries in Europe pre 1914 and in 1933, there are some flags I had copied and coloured in the are on toilet paper !! Grandad Castell never changed to such new fangled things preferring newspaper on a string Grandma was modern !!

What a wonderfully symbolic photo for World Photography Day. I feel like the flower encompases all the layers of the world. I also like that the color tone of the flower is similar to the ones used in the map.
