A delight to see more swans Peter! It looks quite a ceremony! They have to keep themselves looking smart and beautiful. I like the duck with one foot in the air ;-)) You have captured a lovely moment! Hope you have a good and sunny bank holiday Monday.

Most of them were out of the water it must be the evening ritual, I liked the duck, the pool is not a nice as it used to be it was owned privately (the house in on the far side) and it was maintained, but now a quarrying company own it and have allowed it to go natural which means lots of brambles and scrub the only reason that part is clear is that it's granite you can imagine what it's like underfoot, I hope you enjoy the last evening of August Rosalyn

I'm pleased you liked it Isabel, it was to big a crop or I would have had the duck on it's own

Okay, I"m laughing. Not at the photo, but at reading 'Ablutions'. I never knew that word until I was a bit over 30 years old and I recall my husband (the word man, poet) using it and me having to ask and later having to work hard to remember what it meant after that. Now I never hear anyone use it except me! ha!

I quite enjoy the photo. I'm a bit jealous of anyone who gets to be out in the natural world right now. Do you ever crop your photos? As I scrolled down to make this comment I saw the photo cropped off the top to where the birds were sitting at 2/3rd of the way down in the image. It brought out a nice visual connection between the roundness of the tree reflections and the bodies of the birds. [edit - nice cropping. now the birds and reflections of trees interplay against each other keeping my eye moving around the photo pleasantly.]

Found and enjoyed in my group 'm m multiples s s' - thanks for adding!
