I think, the fence at this point is important. If there were no fence the pedestrians would walk straight ahead and fall into the water. :-)))

The pebbled beach is what makes it so popular with people Amelia............no sand in your sandwiches or between your toes (and other awkward places) :-)) It's gets really busy in good weather, despite the social distancing rules, but theres normally plenty of room to walk along the prom.
