cvd - Deaths reported w/e 2021-01-17
Chart of deaths by date of death, with the period 11th - 17th January 2021 colour-coded to show date reported.
My Thoughts with the families and friends of the departed.
Comments.
1) this is shortly before the peak in deaths, and there are a couple of signs that the curve has a minor tendency to flatten.
2) there are some delays in reporting, mainly a week to ten days, but a minority are somewhat longer.
3) it is a little too soon to be seeing any significant benefits from the vaccination programme
4) the slowdown (and eventual peak / decline) will be initially due to the National Restrictions - a "stay at home" lockdown.
This is derived from data published on the UK Government Covid dashboard.
