The diagram shows the Covid-19 infections case rates per 100,000 population by age groups, as a "heat map" in England, in the period from 29th June 2020 to 8th November 2020. Data from Public Health England tests, and ONS population data.

To my eyes, this seems to show that the bulk of cases from late September onwards were concentrated in young adults - early twenties ? - before spreading out into the working age sector of the population and to the very elderly by early November 2020.
