I have never made it further into the Lake District than a brief rail excursion from London to rise on the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway. Scenes like this make me wish I had made a longer visit!

Many thanks. It's certainly worth further exploration... I miss the views like this, but don't miss the lack of facilities. The nearest accessible shops were 16 miles up the coast, in Whitehaven. Not having my own transport made it something of a problem...
