A wonderful image for WPD and of all the photos taken for the day almost certainly the only one from the footplate of a steam locomotive .
In the very dim and distant past was it East Leake station that never had electricity? I used to go to Nottingham for work (Stibbes) and I remember a station with lamps

Prior to 1963 when the local stations closed it would definitely have been gaslit. Rothley was too and now is once more on the GCR.

How many people does it take in that area to run the train? I've stood in places like that, but never on a working train.
