Saturday Self Challenge: negative space

Saturday Self Challenge: negative space
Opdracht was ‘negatieve ruimte’.

On the photo a landscape of the province Flevoland, west of the city Almere. It is now agricultural land, in the future it will be part of the city Almere.
In 1968 the land you see on the photo was completely drained, the fourth polder of the Zuiderzee Works was completed and the land was cultivated. What was part of lake IJsselmeer became land.
In 1978 a wreck of an aeroplane was discovered on the location of the right windmill. It was a bomber, shot by German troops on 1 May 1943. To commemorate that a silhouette of the bomber together with a logo of the Royal Air Force and the date was put on to the windmill.

What a grand image. I am loving this negative space. That's nice that they put the logo on the turbine.

The song is perfect for the challenge. :)

tolles Foto!

The tree in front of the wind turbine adds an effective sense of scale. Very good.

love the scale comparison here!! and that the turbine is facing the trees adds just the right touch. (perhaps this is also a forced perspective!)
