What a difference 7 weeks makes...
Road to Lake Davis, another reservoir in the upper reaches of the Feather River, California. The left inset shows more or less the same view in early April. The right inset is a closer view of the road blocked by snow where it continues straight.

Update: I see I forgot to make the left inset visible to everybody. Sorry--fixed!

I just read that there was snow on Mt Rose last night, there chain controls on some passes, and the high down in Reno was only 59. Mid-June is surprisingly late for that!

Yeah, and barely 10 days before the summer solstice! It's been a wet, cool spring--except for the hot days when there were flood warnings due to increased snowmelt! If you believed the local lore about planting a garden (wait till all the snow's melted off Peavine Mtn), you wouldn't have put in a garden this year.
