Lovely shot. After watching too many 'Westerns' as a kid, I'd have thought these were everywhere!

Thanks, everyone! Yeah, George, that's been the widespread impression even in this country! Even now artists and graphic designers will toss in a saguaro to show it's supposed to be in the desert in the west someplace. Less so now, perhaps, as it's become more widely known how limited their occurrence actually is. The impression is supposed to result (per the Sonoran Desert Museum in Tucson, anyway) from the fact that so many early Westerns were shot in and around Tucson--and in turn, Tucson was popular with Hollywood because you didn't often have to wait on the weather!
