Winnemucca Lake

Carson Pass area, Sierra Nevada, California, USA. Winnemucca was a noted Paiute chief; his daughter, who took the name Sarah Winnemucca, became one of the first writers on Native American affairs from the Native American viewpoint. She was the first person inducted into the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame.
