Georgiana and A Story - #1
Photograph found in the Halkard/Grimshaw album of my husband's G Grandmother.
On the Back: Morton Artistic Photographers, 75 Westminster St. Providence, R.I.
This is possibly Georgiana Hague who was born in Canada in 1870 and is probably the wife of the following man and mother of the following children in my photostream.
One of the children is named and I looked up the family on Familysearch.org but I'm not totally convinced this is the right family - It wasn't entirely clear cut.
Her relationship to the Halkard/Grimshaw family is unknown.
Here's a really uncanny story to go with this photograph.
When this album was uncovered by my future mother-in-law(Joanne) at her Dad's house in the late 70s early 1980s, my future brother in law (Peter) had never seen it before. Joanne had seen it as a child. The amazing thing was that this woman - in both her photographs - looked INCREDIBLY like Peter's girlfriend Tracy. When we turned the pages and saw her it was truly shocking. Tracy was so weirded out by it that after looking at her initially she wouldn't look at her again.
To add to the bizarreness of it all - at the time Peter and Tracy (from Vermont) were living in Providence, Rhode Island where Peter was going to school at Rhode Island School of Design.
So...I only have one tiny photo of Tracy and there it is below. I don't know if any of you will be able to see the uncanny resemblance of Tracy to Georgiana in this photo - but trust me - it really was remarkable.
